Baby Cot

A standard baby cot is a bed with high, slatted sides. These sides, or rails, are a critical safety feature designed to prevent the baby from climbing out and falling. The bars are spaced to be wide enough for air circulation but narrow enough so that an infant's head cannot get stuck between them. The mattress is firm and fits snugly within the cot's frame to eliminate any gaps where a baby could get trapped. Most modern cots have an adjustable mattress height, allowing parents to lower the mattress as the baby grows and becomes more mobile. This feature is crucial for preventing a baby from climbing out of the cot once they can sit or stand.
